Friday Find (26th June 2015) – Skull Shawl

What a long week this has been! I am so glad the weekend is almost here.

I’m finally taking the plunge and I’m going to start learning how to knit this weekend. On Sunday Mum is going to teach me the basics (after shopping for my sister’s wedding of course) and I can’t wait! Any tips will be greatly appreciated 🙂 I got myself a second hand pair of 4mm needles on ebay, grabbed some left over DK yarn and I’m eager to start.

You know my Adventure Time blanket idea that I shared with you earlier this week? Well, it isn’t going to be started until this weather cools down a bit – I’ve realised that it’s a bit too warm and muggy to be working on a blanket through the summer. Plus, I have to find the perfect colours for it and preferably all in one brand of yarn so gonna have a little search. So, I may as well use my time to learn something new. I have some smaller project ideas in mind too, that are a bit more summer friendly.

Ooooo I have to share with you some of the love that my BAMCAL blanket has received over on the Crochet Crowd’s Facebook Page (Link to the Facebook post here). Such lovely comments and even an Honours Award for Labour of Love from The Crochet Crowd 🙂 Thank you! I’ll wear this badge with pride!

Now for this week’s Friday Find – it’s a gorgeous skull shawl that I’ve had in my Ravelry library since I created an account for a while.

One day I will make this… one day! Do you have any projects that you’ve always wanted to make but have never got round to?

Have a lovely weekend 🙂

  2. Love the skull shawl idea and well done you. Good luck with the knitting too. I started to knit years ago but never picked up the needles after falling in love with crochet. Maybe it’s time I gave it another go.
