My first attempt at stash-busting my yarn

A few weeks ago I shared some stash busting project ideas with you for small and large piles of yarn.

The circular shrug really stood out to me and so I decided to get started on that. I went through my stash and pulled out a bunch of colours to use. I realised I have a distinct divide between bright and muted yarns in my box, but on this particular day the muted colours were appealing to me. Here’s the mix of colours I grabbed from my box:

There are a bunch of different brands here … bought online and from my local yarn store, but it’s all DK which is a good start! I grabbed my 5mm hook and got started straight away. It grew nice and fast and before I knew it I was leaving gaps for the armholes 🙂

Here’s a sneak preview of what t looks like so far…

I love these colours! Still have a way to go, but it’s definitely making a dent in my stash and it’s growing so fast.
