Sunday Sevens (24th January 2016)

The Sunday Sevens series was created by Nat at Thread and Bobbins to share awesome and exciting things that don’t necessarily deserve a whole post of their own. I have lots and lots I want to share and hopefully this will be the perfect way.

What a lovely week… except I forgot to photograph most of it so here are some snaps I did remember to get 🙂

1 – First off – I had my hair chopped. It’s now seven inches shorter and much easier to manage.

2 – I wound my sock yarn ready for when I have the concentration to start learning (EXCITING!). Plus who needs a swift when you can use a chair?

3 – I’ve started playing Neko Atsume, a simple game where you fill a yard with goodies and wait for cats to come play with them – super cute!

4 – The cold weather has meant my blanket has had a lot of use this week.

5 – We visited some more wedding shows and were given lots of free magazines to read through. We’re going to a HUGE wedding show at Bluewater in Kent next weekend and I’m really looking forward to it.

6 – For Christmas I was given a subscription to Simply Crochet magazine and I received my free gift yesterday – a cute elephant to make from Edward’s Menagerie. I now have the book too, so am looking forward to making this.

7 – And lastly our sloe wine is finally bubbling away, yay! We had to buy a warmer for it to sit on as the fermentation took longer to kick in than it did with the blackberry wine. But now the wine is warm, so it’s happily bubbling away.

Another week over 🙂

Thanks! The hairdresser said it’s in a lovely condition.. but then again I very rarely do anything with it 🙂 and thank you. I do love my blanket – so snuggly and warm.

Thanks! The wine is my partner’s handiwork but it seems simple enough. He started out using the kit wines you can buy in store and last year moved on to do one from scratch. He’s following a recipe from a brewing book he has and mostly it’s making sure it’s kept at a steady temperature and left to ferment. We’ve found it easier to do in winter as the thermostat keeps the room warm enough without getting too hot 🙂
