Hey! I’m Tanya, a self confessed yarn addict from South East Essex in the UK.
Crochet came into my life in January 2013 when a lady from the WI taught me the basics and everything about the craft just clicked. I turned to websites, YouTube, books – anything to learn more and the rest, as they say, is history.
When I fell ill with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (also known as ME or the newly named SEID) in the summer of 2013, crochet became much more than just a hobby to me, it gave me something to do when I couldn’t do anything else. I had to give up so much of what I loved, but crochet could just come along for the ride and there was a project for every day – Granny Squares for those fuzzy brain days and more challenging patterns when I just wanted to think of nothing else but creating. It was perfect and it gave me hope.
During the summer of 2015 my Mum sat down to teach me how to knit… that was a fun day! But I love it and am loving the challenge.
I’ve been documenting my love of all things crafty on my Facebook page and over on Tumblr for a while, but I thought I’d start this blog to follow my own yarny journey specifically. Plus, if I can share the love of crochet, knitting and yarn along the way then that’s a bonus too. Catch you later!
